Portable Lectern Sound System
Rio Rancho, NM – USA
GENERAL INFORMATION
The VP85E is designed to provide highly intelligible sound with audiences up to 1500 persons when used with two
ES85 extension speakers. The VP85 may be used as a table-top unit or as a floor unit with the folding S-85 stand.
The stand is available separately as an accessory.
The VP85 may be operated from its built-in battery pack or from
110/120V AC, 50-60Hz, using the charger supplied with the unit. When operated in this manner, the charger simulta-
neously powers the unit and charges the battery pack. However, the lectern will recharge faster with the lectern
power switch turned off.
In addition to the two shock-mounted main microphone inputs, the VP85 provides an auxiliary microphone input and a
high level input which can be connected to auxiliary audio equipment such as tape decks or other P.A. systems.
The VP85 provides a high level output which can be used with tape recorders and other auxiliary equipment with
inputs labeled “AUX IN” or “HI LEVEL IN”.
The VP85 will power two external speakers with a 2 ohm impedance via two 1/4 inch jacks. Each of these speaker
jacks is driven by a separate 7 watt amplifier which is activated when the speaker is plugged in. LECTROSONICS
model ES85 speakers are specially designed for the VP85 and store inside the lectern for convenient portability. USE
ONLY THE ES85 SPEAKERS IN THESE JACKS.
The VP85 comes complete with an M131S cardioid electret microphone, 16-foot MM-16 microphone cord, GN-17
gooseneck and a CH-40 charger. All accessories are stored in a vinyl pouch inside the lectern. To gain access to the
storage compartment, release the latch located directly above the carrying handle and lift up the hinged lectern
surface.
READING LAMP BULB REPLACEMENT
A spare bulb is located in the accessory pouch packed inside the lectern. It looks like a fuse.
After the burned out bulb has cooled, it may be pried out of its holder with a small flat-blade screwdriver or similar tool.
Be careful not to damage the lamp holder or the lectern finish. The replacement bulb may be snapped into place with
the thumb and forefinger.
Order a replacement bulb at this time (see accessory table).
