BASIC SETUP AND OPERATION
BATTERY OPERATION
The self-contained batteries in the lectern are very reliable and will generally last for several days usage. The unit
should be recharged immediately after each use.
1) Turn volume control completely counter-clockwise
2) Insert gooseneck and/or mic cord plug into lectern
3) Attach microphone to end of gooseneck or cord
4) Push switch on microphone body toward pickup end of microphone
5) Turn BASS & TREBLE controls to center position
6) Turn on the lectern power. Place the slide switch in either the center or right hand position depending upon
whether or not you need the reading lamp. Leave the switch in the center position if you don’t need the reading lamp
to preserve battery power.
7) Adjust the VOLUME control to a setting that provides enough loudness so that the most distant listener can hear.
NOTE: To achieve the maximum loudness from the system, the talker’s mouth needs to be close to the microphone (2
to 6 inches).
AC OPERATION
Simply plug the CH-40 charger into the CH-40 INPUT jack on the control panel and plug the charger into an appropri-
ate AC wall outlet. Check to see that the green lamp next to the charger jack on the control panel lights up. This will
verify that the charger is operating. Follow the same setup and adjustment sequence outlined above.
NOTE
When the battery pack becomes fully charged the green charge indicator lamp will go
out. The state of charge may be checked at any time by connecting up the CH-40
charger. If the battery pack is fully charged, the green lamp will light for a moment
and then go out. During AC operation with a fully charged battery pack, the green
charging lamp may flicker as you speak into the microphone. This is normal.
